1981 - 1983 Temp Switch 35C and 15C
Can someone please clarify. I have an 82SC and was wondering about the two temperarture switches. The 15C is on the right chain cover. The 35C is on the breather cover. I am confused about the description in the Bentley.
Here is what the Bentley states: 15C Temp Switch - the main temp input to the oxs. When the engine is cold, this switch is normally open. When the engine reaches the switching temp, the switch closes and provides a ground input to the control unit and the system then goes into close looop operation. --------------------------------------- 35C Temp Switch - additional switch used on 1981 and later cars as part of the cold acceleration enrichment system. When the engine oil temp is below 35C, additional enrichment is provided briefly when accelerating off idle (appox 2-3 degreee throttle angle) and again at part throttle (approx 15 degree throttle angle). This switch is normaly open. When the engine oil temp reaches the switching temp, the switch opens and acceleration enrichment is no longer provided. HUH? Normally open and then opens???? ---------------------------------------
