911 alternator replacement costs
my 1991 911 carrera 4 alternator bad. does anyone know the book estimate of hours of labor involved to replace?

No, but it's pretty easy to do yourself.

Probably an hour for in and out if you know what you're doing. If I get involved, probably about six hours, net of the trip to the ER.

From his post, I'm guessing he doesn't want to do it himself. Pretty easy is a relative term. Why can't Porsche give you an extra couple of inches of wire.
My wild guess if you go to a reputable shop is $500 with a rebuilt alternator. Tracks3 I see this is your first post on Pelican, welcome, you'll get more, and better responses, if you post where you're located and the tradition here is that you post a pic of your car. It's a nice place to visit.
