I would not have any problem buying a track prepped car. In fact my car was tracked and I have continued the practice, The car is at it's best on the track. In fact you can't get the full experience of these cars on the street and be safe. I would with out exception get a pre purchase inspection (PPI) from a experienced air cooled wrench. It is the most important decision you will make regardless of how the car was treated. My track prepped car is in better shape and safer than most street cars I have seen. It's a sharp looking car.

yes, it would cost a fortune adding them up.
Also, just for your reference, my car has a salvage title from stolen almost 20 years ago and it is in very good condition for its' age, if I don't want to say exceptional. One of the most important thing about it is when did it got the salve title? If recently, then you might have to be careful but if it's 10+ years ago, then the POs might took care of most or all of them.
Yes, my car does have several problems which I have to slowly take care of, but most are maintenant and minor problem. Which 20+ years old car doesn't, right?
Good luck.

I really love the wide fenders/ turbo look and if I were to buy a "Stock" 911 I would want at some point to spend the $ to get metal flares, do the body work and paint. That alone is going to be costly though. I estimate 6K - 8K???

So the way I see it, if I buy this car I will get all the suspension work and I will just need to re-do the paint at some point down the line. I say down the line because I can more than live with how the paint currently is and be happy. I could spend time and some $ fixing smaller cosmetic things.

Anyone have a wide body 3.2 911 for sale in CA? That could be an alternative too :) But I have had a hard time finding one that is not salvage title or a factory wide body which commands a much higher price.
