My new Mid-Year 911 Project

Well, I decided that I needed another 911 and so the story begins. I sold my last 911, 9 months ago to be the good guy to fund the wedding in October and showed my dedication to our relationship. Well, after being a crab ass for 9 months for not having a P-Car to cruise, I went and bought another one...and for the good news, the Wedding still goes on. Here it is, a 1975 911s with the great 2.7 liter everyone loves(little joke) that runs and drives great. Its a nice runner and driver with no major rust, and will make a nice candidate for a wide body car or I may keep it a straight body hot rod. I am not sure what I am going to do in the future but I am always looking for advice. Let me know what you think.

Well...put a motor in it! Seriously, why is it hiked up? Otherwise, I like it. I could do the wheels as is, but a little polish showing would really wake that car up.

Glad you got it and the wedding is a go. You're livin' right.....

Congrats! Put some Webers on that engine, you'll be glad you did!

Thanks Guys. The rear end is deffintely going to be lowered SOON. I think I am going to do a RSR Finish on the wheels, put some wax on it and do an exhaust mod. She is much to quiet for my liking. Webers will be a winter project as well as some H4's. I am also planning on front and rear bumpers, but I need to make the decision on Flare's before that. I am stuck between a 1973 Carrera RS back date or a 1974 Iroc look...or a ST look or...or...or. I have some thinking to do. I deffinetly want a vintage look from this car when its all said and done.

Nothing wrong with a well sorted narrow body. Trust me on that.

i did a widebody out of mine... but to be honest i'm kinda loving the 911R or ST style at the moment... not necessiraly a replica, but something in their image, light weight, not huge rubber, a little understated....

really i'd like to pack some serious punch into a narrow body hot rod with some old school style + classic colour (scheme?)...

nice buy!

Don't change a thing. Tasteful green color, beautiful original touch with existing chrome pieces, particularly the headlight rings and door mirrors. Lower the rear a tad, and that's it.

Later model SC's and Carrera's became too stealth with overdose of blackout accents and monochromatic interior and exterior color schemes. But that was the "Eighties".

Then there's the No/So California aftermarket, plastic knock-off thing with RSR, RS, IROC, ducktale, weld-in wide body crap, which is simply ugly in that west coast way. These type of changes moves the original intent of the car far from the euro designer's intent. It's your car, but change like that isn't always good. Never mind how it will tank the value.

Love the color it's very unusual and low key. Good idea the RSR finish on the wheels. For what it's worth I'd stay w/narrow body and spend my money on punch, handling and weight reduction.

Hey, I used to own that car!!! I traded it to a guy in WI for a race prepped 944S, and I still regret it. It's a nice solid car. Glad to see it found a good home, I hope you enjoy it. I only had it for a couple months, but I did the wheels and the front carrera valance and spoiler along with the oil lines and auxiliary oil cooler in the front, it had no front cooler when I bought it. Congrats!

Thanks again for the replys. I am really leaning towards a narrow body hot rod. I am still considering some flares. Time will tell. Lightweight will be the ultimate goal.

Lower that thing, keep it narrow, and paint everything flat black and get some socks like Milt's...instant 100 HP increase.....

2nd on the narrow! I have some new factory SC flares, rockers, extensions, etc. that I go round and round about installing all the time. Driving me nuts really.

That color is fantastic.

What are you planning to do to the 2.7?

I am planning on keeping th 2.7 going as long as I can. Long term plan would be keeping the 2.7, webers, higher compression, balanced bottom end, twin plugged, crazy track cam's, and some built heads. I just want the car to rev. But again, dreams are free. The car will be built for DE/HPDE events.

I like the color and the look.. I'd keep it narrow body and go the stealth route. Give the engine some nice pep to scare people you'll be giving rides to out on the track.

Definitely keep the car narrow! As for the 2.7, a buddy of mine has on in a '76 targa with RS P&C's, DC40 (?) cams, carbs, and an M&K muffler and it is a screamer, that would definitely be the way to go with the motor.
