idle question
i have a 1976 911S targa, 99,000 on the clock, she runs well. but after she's warmed up the idle will go down to 500 rpm at stops, if i gently tap the accelerator pedal (wouldn't kill an ant) she immediately goes up to 950 and holds there. anyone have a similar situation and how did you resolve this, thanx

Does the idle just go there and stay steady? Does it fluctuate while you are stopped? If you are stopped and rev the engine quickly up to say 5000 and immediately take your foot off the gas, what happens?

it stays fairly steady, if i rev it, the rpms generally go to 950, but not all the time
