1982 sc speedometer

i just bought a 82 911sc but had not looked closely at the speedo. the vehicle has not been delivered as of yet. is it true that the speedo only reads up to 85 mph? how can this be fitted with a wider scale speedo?

Yes you can update your speedo. I got mine on ebay in fact the entire set of dash gauges all in Very good shape, for less then the price of a new speedo. To change out just pull out the old one, reconnect the wires and your off.

The 85 mph speedo requirement was rescinded in the spring of 1982. Late 1982 build date 911's reverted to regular speedometers.

I have the 150 mph in my '83, very little usable area on the speedo, the 85 mph speedo give a nice broad gauge area that you actually use.
