RS Tire Sizes

What size tires work best on 7 and 8 inch by 15 Fuchs under 72 T with RS rear flares? Car now runs 185/65/15 front and 215/60/15 rears? Doesn't seem like the car has been lowered. Thanks.

I've used 205/55 (F) & 225/50 x 15 (R) on a couple of my cars:

The stock sizes on a '73 Carrera 2.7RS were 6 & 7 x15 w/ 185/70 & 215/60 tires

185/70 are tough to get these days so many use 195/65 & 215/60

that's what is on this one

My Carrera 3.0 came w/ 7 & 8 x15 w/ 205/50 & 225/50, but 205/55 & 225/50 works a s well

RS tire size

This is a street car. Based on the replies and other threads it seems 205/50 or 55 and 225/50 are the most popular. The old 60 series are really big and hulking looking which gives the car an almost dragster look. I like the lower ride of the 50 series and firmer side wall though and may find more tire choicesas well. Thanks.

I currently run 205/50 and 225/50 on my 7 and 8 x 15 fuchs... my problem however is our fairly crappy roads over here in Australia. The lower sidewall heights contribute to the overall ride height being a little too low and I scrape fairly regularly

If you wind the height up to compensate, the lower profile tyres contribute to a big gap between the arches and tyre which looks goofy.

Finding nice original sized tyres is getting really hard (certainly over here)
