Passenger seat become driver seat?

In searching for power 86 driver side sport seat in cashmere-Tan, the pickings are slim and expensive. Typically, they are beat on the bolsters. Now and then, a pristine passenger seat appears. Are there issues in putting this in a driver position, aside from belt receiver placement (which cannot be rocket science) and power controls on the inside?

Well, the sliders will fit, but I think it's a hassle. And, I'm not sure the belt placement thing is a no brainer.

I've done it before but on a power seat it's some work. The seat belt receiver bracket is welded to the power seat frame rather than a bolted like on a non power seat. For a power seat you have to swap the bottom frame in order to get the receiver on the correct side.

For a non power seat, it's not a big deal. You just swith the receiver bracket and drill some new mounting holes in the rail.

I had my seats swapped for a while when the driver's seat was at the upholsterer to have the seat bottom recovered (GAAH cover) and the bolster panel replaced with a scrap ($200 total for the job with me supplying the cover).

Aside from the issues you menitioned, I tore the cuffs on several pairs of slacks by catching them on the seat back lever on the way out - its like a fish hook! My recommendation would be to remove the lever - how ofter do you adjust the seatback position anyway? Wish I had though of the before ripping my pants!

So this bottom has no belt receiver on it, so can I 'Simply" drill and bolt one into the correct side or have a welder stick one on? Attaching one to the floor may work but the Climate control box probably makes it tight and drilling is not my preference.

This PS sport here is an 85. Too many issues?
