The Power of Stopping
I posted an article I did for European Çar in 1992. It involved installing 911S calipers on my 911T. The brake caliper swap was the easy part. The difficult part was finding new Koni struts. At the time Porsche was located in Reno and getting ready to move once again to a new location.
The parts manager found an old box with original Koni struts. The box was ripped up and covered with dust. He was all apologetic that he would have to charge me for these struts. He said if I would send him a check for $25.00 he would send me the Koni struts. I took a nanosecond to consider the deal and wrote the check immediately. The interesting thing is that every single part in the article is still on the car and operating very nicely. I'm not even sure if Cal Rotor is still in business these days. This may be a case of where the parts outlasted the company that sold them to me. Richard Newton Autocross Performance Handbook |
