Porsche Crest 1986 911 AC problem

I just took out my car from storage and tried to turn on my AC but, when I turn the knob on the lower console it doesn't do anything.

Any solutions? Relay.... Fuse....????

Here is the solution: By a 993 like I did.

Kidding aside - It could be anything but in my 87 when that would happen the fuse
and relay were fine. I would leave the switch in the on position and give the motor
in the smugglers box a whack and presto it would kick on. Regardless, the AC still S***ed!~

Good-Luck!

Do you mean there is no cold air or there is no fan blowing at all?

If it is no cold air....well join the club. The compressors have a leaky reputation. Look on the underside of your engine lid above where the compressor is. If you see a black oily line, that is a good indication the system leaks. Consider that the compressor was never that good to begin with and that the drier and hoses are 23 years old. If you really need air, you might search here for air conditioning upgrades.

If you need to check the fuses, just use the legend on the fuse box to check which one is for a/c. Might just need a cleaning of the contacts, which should be done every spring anyway.

Yup could be the fuse or the relay. It could also be the bimetal switch under the passenger floorboard.

Did you check the back of the fan control switch that turns it on?
Mine was burnt up - I replaced it and now I have A/C

I'd say fuse, if no power to the fan control.

Mine was loose and when I turned it on the fuse blew. Replaced and all good.
