Good Morning, Will a dash from a 1987 911 fit a 1980?

I believe that the A/C vents are of different size?
Little help and a bump for Mr. Wood? S.

From my understanding the 80 dash has two windshield defroster ducts about a foot apart from each other and has a small rectangle vent on the front center of the dash. MY 83 SC cab is this way.
I believe the 87 has a single centrally positioned wide defroster duct and a larger more squarer vent in the front center of the dash. I would assume it would be a royal PITA to change out defroster/ dash duct work to put the 87 dash on the 80. But hey anything is possible with a big enough hammer, welders, and cutting torches....HeHeHe

The topic has been covered on the forum in the past. It seems that it takes quite a bit of effort - beyond collecting the "new" parts required in order to swap out the dash vents, hoses, etc.

Thank you all for your help. I think I'll pass on the 87 dash purchase, and wait for the correct one.
