M&K Muffler Install - 2 Different Size Spring Clamps?

Muffler is a 1 in 1 out. Assuming these are the correct spring clamps (they were shipped w/the muffler), which one goes on which side? Thanks.

I supply them with 2 different sizes so it fits carrera applications as well. the short one should be all that is needed and can go on either side. you can remove the spring if need be as there are a bunch of different muffler brackets. I did get your message but I must of heard the number wrong as I called back and the guy that answered had no idea what an SC was

M&k muffler...

I have the same muffler, 1 in, 1 out... However, assuming you have the same period car ("84") I removed the mounting bracket on the S.S. heater cross over pipe and used two of Ben's clamps that can be purchased from McMaster-Carr of the same size so I didn't have to deal with trying to line up both the muffler and the cross over pipe. I was then able to align the muffler by itself, then deal with the cross over pipe. With the three heavy duty clamps the cross over pipe wasn't going anywhere. At least it hasn't in 5,000 miles and a year of driving. Yes, the underside isn't quite as shiny as it once was in this pix...
