72T MFI Starting Problem

I have a 72T MFI 911.

I turned the key 1/2 way this am to start the car and did not hear the fuel pump whir as it usually does before I turn the key completely to engage the starter. If I turn the key completely the starter will turn but the car will not start.

After a few tries I could get the fuel pump to make the whirring sound it usually makes. The car will then start without a problem.

Fuel pump problem?

Electrical?

I noticed that pumps are NLA. Can I rebuild mine if that is fact the problem?

I can't seem to find any immediate electrical connection problems but I have not looked that carefully.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

Ian

Ian,

Problem is possibly in the ignition switch. Does the CDI 'sing' in the ON position?
I'll offer more tomorrow.

Best,
Grady
