72T MFI Starting Problem
I have a 72T MFI 911.
I turned the key 1/2 way this am to start the car and did not hear the fuel pump whir as it usually does before I turn the key completely to engage the starter. If I turn the key completely the starter will turn but the car will not start. After a few tries I could get the fuel pump to make the whirring sound it usually makes. The car will then start without a problem. Fuel pump problem? Electrical? I noticed that pumps are NLA. Can I rebuild mine if that is fact the problem? I can't seem to find any immediate electrical connection problems but I have not looked that carefully. Any other ideas? Thanks. Ian |

Ian,
Problem is possibly in the ignition switch. Does the CDI 'sing' in the ON position? I'll offer more tomorrow. Best, Grady
