My idea is to use a 912 engine on a 69 VW Beeatle. In order to use a WEVO shifter, because i like the way it looks, and i will use it on my future car, i would like to know if its possible to assemble an 901 or 915 or 930 or even a G-50 transmission (those are the ones that i can fit a WEVO on).
Kinda crazy, hu? tks and rgds, Francesco |

Francesco,
We meet again ![]() I did a 911/912 transaxle swap many years ago into my Karman Ghia using a 901 trans from a '67 911. I had to fabricate a front trans mount, modify the rear mount, drill the trans case to use the stock rear mount as well as use a longer clutch cable from a Squareback. The 911/912 shifter and shift rod was used as well. The trans tunnel has to be cut to allow for the nose cone of the trans. The shift rod must be shortened and rewelded. Can it be done, definitley but you will need fabrication skills. See this site for more information. http://www.performanceghia.co.uk/ Use Google searches, the information and sites are out there. Ciao,
