Question Lumpy idal 3.2

I have a 89 3.2 Carrera that has a rough idal at 800rpm. It sings like a Porsche should at 2000rpm. Any ideas ? A dirty throttle body ? It has 62k and I did all the required maintnence at 60k about a year ago.
One more......... When it is cold it feels like it is pulsing, like it needs fuel. I put in a new fuel filter but under load I still feel the pulse.

Welcome aboard Rick...nice car ! Use the search feature above, to search the 911 forum only with "hunting idle", "idle control valve" (ICV), etc. and you'll find lots of threads and tips in the archives. You'll want to check your ICV, possible vacuum leaks, etc. to track it down. BTDT, and my idle is perfect now...good luck!

+ 1 on the ICV....remove-clean-re-install....if the problem still there, buy a can of ether and spray it gently over the vaccum lines...any leak will cause a surge in RPM....Ho...very nice 911....and welcome aboard.

When was the last tune up? Plugs, cap, rotor, valves, possibly ignition wires...etc. These may explain a rough idle, not a hunting one.

Thanks for the fast reply. I think i will look around for the ICV and clean it out.
I did the plugs , cap & rotor, wires ( the wires were breaking off stuck to the plugs ) last year.
