G50 Shift Fork Bushing help

Just ordered the last of the parts for the rebuild (hopefully) from our host and was told the hard plastic bushing that goes inside the upgraded G50 shift fork is n/a separately. I have the factory upgraded G50 clutch release in my '88 and I managed to bugger these up a bit when I was taking it all apart for inspection. I ordered new bearings/bushing but these plastic inserts are apparently now bonded to the shift fork and n/a separately. Has anyone got any suggestions or possibly dealt with this problem. I don't want to have to buy a whole new fork b/c of a couple of 50 cent pieces of plastic.

TIA

When you say shift fork are you talking about the actual end you use with your hand to change gear or the fork that presses on the clutch release bearing to disengage the clutch?

Are the plastic bearings bonded to the internal thru hole in the shift fork? That's what it sounds like from your description. If thats the case, I cannot believe someone has not developed an oilite bronze bushing as a replacement.

Shift Fork: The primary fork you shift to after finishing your salad. It's sitting just to the right of the salad fork:D
Baaah Haaaah Haaaaah!
All kidding aside, its the latter of the two.

You will either have to replace the clutch relase or get the Weltmiester update with the metal bushings.

here is part number you can check it out thru Pelican

Can't seem to c/p pic over from the Pelican parts diagram. It's part # 950-116-086-06-M260. this is the roughly triangular shaped lever that the G50 hydraulic actuator pushes on to move the throwout bearing. I also would think the plastic bushings could be replaced and I guess I'll just have to see if I can find something that works in place of what was there.
Thanks for the replies,

I think this is what you need...

996 is right but the part has been updated, which is sort of the problem, there are now two versions of the part. I need the plastic bushings you can see in the pic above. The upgrade kit/parts in the immediate prior post is already installed in my car and does not include the two plastic bushings you can see in the post by 996. I have ordered, from Pelican, the two updated needle bearings and seals in the upgrade kit since they are available seprately. I'm back to looking for some sort of alternate solution.

This is the part number I gave you in a previuos post it will work if you transmission has been drilled or not. You replace the plastic bushings with the bronze one's in the kit....

Sorry it's a Patrick picture.....

The one above is what i used when I updated the clutch fork kit. The bronze bushings replace the plastic ones in the shift fork. I got a used 993 fork on ebay since I needed the new design fork which were used up to the last model year 993 as well as using new bronze bushings in it.
If you can send the parts back and get the no drill kit. It fits both stock and the factory update holes. I do have the two pieces that were used for the trans that already had been drilled. It gets you the bushings and a better solution that will last much longer:cool:

Tony/Michael,
Thanks for the education...I did not realize I had other options since mine has (I assume) been drilled out since the PO installed the early factory upgrade. Obviously I'd rather just replace the bushings for a couple of dollars but at least I know I have a solid option to buying a whole new release fork.
Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel on this rebuild.
Thanks,

I have the plastic ones I removed when I did my clutch and shaft update. They are new as I just tapped them out and put in the bronze ones. PM me with an address and I can send them to you. Ken

Wow Ken, thats an awfully nice offer, but I think 88911 would be much better off if he follows your lead and uses the bronze replacements.
