Smog requirements in Dallas, TX?
Anyone know the smog requirements in Dallas, TX?

All smog equipment must be there and functional. If your car is registered in Dallas County, then you have to take a tailpipe test as well. I've had interesting experiences passing inspections in the area. I live in McKinney so there is no tailpipe test, just visual inspection. I failed my first inspection because I did not have the heater hoses on. I passed with a Cat bypass pipe on. Go figure.

I bought my 78 SC in Fort Worth and the air pump wasn't even connected or working.

Eric,
What part of Dallas do you live? I live in Flower Mound (North of DFW airport) and they did not even open my motor hood last inspection, but I am in Denton County. Get your car inspected outside of Dallas county and you will fare much better! Joe |
