Rear Wheels on a '77 911s

I am replacing the chromed fuchs that came on my car with black centered ones. I planned on going with the 6x16 & 7x16 set up that seems to be the most popular at this time . . . then I read a tech e-mail on another site that says that a 225-50/16 on a 8x16 944 turbo wheel will fit better than a 225-50/16 on the 7x16 911 wheel.

Can any body help.

You are limited by your narrow rear fenders, the 6x16 has a +36mm os, the 7x16 911 and 944 Fuchs and 8x16 944 Fuchs have a +23.3mm os. The 7x16 +23.3mm os will be very close, so you need a smallish tire with it, Best(for the rear) would be the 911R wheel at 7x15 +49mm os, since you want 16" Fuchs you are stuck with either the 6x16 +36mm os, or the 7x16 +23.3mm os(either 911 or 944)
