tips to loosen tight nuts to remove injectors
I am attempting to remove fuel injectors for servicing. The nuts on the pipe connectors are really tight and I am having difficulty undoing the back ones both sides. Any tips here would be appreciated. I guess applying heat is out of the question???

The manual probably says "remove fuel injectors"
A crow's foot wrench on an extension an a long ratchet handle or breaker bar can be a big help. I have often wished for a swivel-head flare nut wrench when getting at mine.

use a 6 point socket and make surei it is fully seated
you really don't want to bugger the bolt head, ( or is t an allen head). I just did this on my wife's benz and they were TIGHT. If you yse an 6 point socket rather than the usual 12 point you stand a better chance of not buggerring the head of the bolt. Make sure it is fully seated and square on the bolt. Or as others have suggested use a crow's foot.
I had to move a bunch of stuff, (dipstick and tube, oil filter, part of the air intake) to get a good shot at the bolt. use whatever combination of swivel, extension, or wobbly you need to to getback enough to get a good leverage on it. good luck. chris |

2 wrenches in a V shape and squeeze them together.

This is a 85 3.2. I have tried the two spanner squeeze but it won’t undo. I realise I need to have a spanner on both sides of the connection but boy how do you apply adequate force. I have a hot air gun to heat one nut but am really worried using it near a fuel line. Lordy Lordy these things are a test.

abides.

I just did this last weekend. No special tricks, but having some reasonably long wrenches with narrow flats definitely helped. Maybe soak with penetrating oil for a day if you are having a lot of trouble.
I'm not sure how you could apply much heat back there with the engine still in the car... lots of vacuum lines in the vicinity.

Do NOT apply heat. If the injectors are still on & the car runs, go for a spin , warm up the engine to operating temp, & try the john walker technique.

Thanks I’ll get back and have another go. I’ll not use heat.

Oh, if you do get to loosen the nuts, let the engine cool down before loosening all the way.

Remove heater blower, fuel line from filter, 3 connector assembly, to gain access.
Like Walker said, a 15mm and 17mm wrenches in a V and squeeze together. Gotta have room. ![]()

Thanks guys I went back and gave another try after soaking and i got it. On the right side which has good access the nut was done up super tight on the left it was not too bad. I guess whoever did these up over tightened the right side because he could. As you do.
