2.2 S motor . Whats a fair price to ask ?

I know, I know... another boring "whats this worth" tread. Any replies appreciated.

I plan/hope to sell this motor since I wont be using it and so I can complete my hot 3.0l build for my 67. This motor is coming from my 67 911 that I bough sight unseen.

Heres what I have, a 2.2S motor complete with S MFI and pump, it runs good ( I will be checking the compression soon) does not puff oil on start up or when running. Runs strong and sounds great. BUT and its a big but at one point in the past the case # by the fan housing were altered to the point where its difficult to make anything out, so who know what colorful past this motor has had. It also has carrera hydraulic upgraded tensioners. It does idle a little high 1100rpm when warm but it could be a adjustment.

anybody know what I should be asking for the motor complete or would it be better to part it out? if anybody would be interested in the mfi.

What would a complete mfi be worth anyway.

Again, any replies appreciated.
Thanks

To move the motor I would say $7500 if in need of service, up to $10,000 if ready to run. They have been offered as high as $15,000. There is a 69S motor in the parts classified that has been sitting @ $12,000.

MFI posted @ $3000.

Thanks guys for reply's.

The motor is ready to run and would not need a major service, just a good cleaning... I just started the car after siting 6 months and it was below freezing outside ( not enough garage space) and it started up and ran cleanly, not even a puff of blue. Strangely enough my 993 that sat for exactly the same time burned blue for about 20 seconds.

I know the economy is a bit tough right now for stuff like this so would really like to price it fair and see what happens. Would $4500 for the complete motor be to cheap?

I would guess some 914 guys would be more inclined to buy it.

Pelican's "914 Used Parts FS & Buy" might be worth a shot?

No, it's still a little steep in this economy. But with the xmas spirit and all, I'll take it.

Seriously, I will take it at $4500. Let me know.
