Who carries Wurth SKS in Atlanta?

Would like to find a local source of Wurth SKS to respray gas tank this weekend.

Wurth has a Regional Branch Office in Duluth but they are closed. Anyone know if they sell retail out of this office?

I've come up empty on Google searches trying to find local distributors.

You can take a long ride to JAX - I have one (Beige) that I will sell you. Its hard finding someone local with the stuff.

Automotive Paint Supply shops?

3M makes similar coatings that might work for you. 3M™ Rocker Schutz™ Coating and 3M™ Rocker Panel Sprays (Tan & Clear) come in coarse and medium if memory serves. I found some at a O'Reilly Auto Parts store that stocks automotive paint supplies along with the usual auto parts. A mobile paint service used it for a re-spray of the rear valence of my '89 to correct some peeling paint. It worked well.

I looked for the exact same stuff at two paint supply shops last week. Neither of them stocked it, so I gave up on finding it locally and was going to just order it online.

Phil, we have it at the shop, i just never paid attention to which supplier brings it to us. Ill see what I can find out on Monday.

Thanks Mark, Not trying to hijack Mark's (original poster) thread, but I need it as well. Yeah Viper green it is, can't wait to get to see it in that color. You guys are doing a great job.

Due to tight time frame I gave up trying to find Wurth SKS Stoneguard locally. I drove by the Wurth Regional office. Not only were they closed but they had computer monitors on the floor with no furniture visible.....???

I just picked up some Duplicolor aerosol product at Autozone and shot the tank with black semi-gloss rustoleum. Not perfect but good enough.

When I painted one it never dried??? It stayed sticky for ever, must of been a reaction between what was on there and the paint I tried to put over it (duplicolor).

Did you strip yours to bare metal like I see a lot of folks do?

Erik, I used a wire wheel and removed only the loose spots and left what was in good shape alone. Followed up with self etching primer over bare metal and old schutz, then Duplicolor paintable stoneguard and rustoleum top coat. Seems to be drying OK.
