Isn't "RSR Replica" a Pleonasm?

It has become idiomatic amongst Porschephiles, but "RSR Replica" is redundant, nonetheless, correct? Is there a consensus of opinion from the general public, here?

Does that mean you think RSR stands for RSReplica?

Isn't "pleonasm" a bit pretentious for an internet forum?

I had to look that one up, never even heard of it before! (Fortunately dictionary.com is my friend)

RSR stands for Rennsport Renn, which might be redundant, but it's German so who knows. "RSR Replica" isn't redundant.

Pleonasm:
Wiki:

"Pleonasm is the use of more words (or even word-parts) than necessary to express an idea clearly. A closely related concept is rhetorical tautology, in which essentially the same thing is said more than once in different words (e.g "black darkness", "cold ice", "burning fire"). Regardless, both are a form of redundancy. Pleonasm and tautology each refer to different forms of redundancy in speech and the written word."

no it isn't... RSR racing might be..lol...

rsr = racing sports racer???? lol..what is (correct? intended?) the translation?
pleonasm |ˈplēəˌnazəm|
noun
the use of more words than are necessary to convey meaning (e.g., see with one's eyes), either as a fault of style or for emphasis.

RS replica and
RSR replica, are two completely different types of cars if that answers your question.

Sounds like a painful problem you should consult your physician about.

You guys have no problem with oxymoron or eponymous but suddenly pleonasm turns you into snuffling snarkers. Back to class, everybody.

We should check with the American Redundancy Department of America on this one.
