Squeeling brakes on my 993
I had new front rotors, pads, and sensors installed on my 1995 911 a few months ago, and they worked fine for a while. But in the last few weeks they have developed a loud squeeling noise when stopping, primarily just on the last 10 feet or so of stopping. I have tried the usual suggestion of hitting the brakes hard at high speed, and that has helped for a day or so, then the noise comes back. It is getting to be embarassing.
Also, the Check Brake Pads dashboard light comes on in the morning when starting the car, and stays on for about 20-30 seconds, then goes off and stays off the rest of the day. Don't know if that is related. Any suggestions will be appreciated. |

Quote:
1) wrong pads 2) mung built up behind the ss pad holders 3) mung on the rotors & pads from use. I use track pads even on the street and they are mostly quiet as long as they are kept clean. use compressed air and a respirator to blow out all the dust that has built up inside the rotors, then flush w/ a hose then drive them dry. repeat as necessary if there is a build up behind the pad holders then the holder screws must be heated to remove(they are Lok Tited in place) mechanically remove the debris, reassemble
