VroomGrrl Gets a Sneak Peak at 2009 997 Turbo & Carrera S PDK

I lucked out yesterday, and on a visit to Porsche Sport Driving School USA at Barber Motorsports Park, I was treated to a sneak peak at the two newest 911s in the PSDS fleet. Didn't get out on track, but got a nice close look at the 2009 997 Carrera Turbo, and the Carrera S with PDK.

VROOM!

Check them out in this Garage419 video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYFk_WoxLzA&feature=channel_page

So.........

Does this have the "New" lightweight motor,

or the tried & true aircooled based block that is "bulletproof" or almost so?

That Turbo has the GT1 block. It will probably get DFI and the 9A1 next model year with the 998.

What happened? Did you get threatened by Porsche's lawyers?

No, no threats! Let's just say after-the-fact-pucker-factor kicked in, and I did not want to jeopardize my Porsche Princess status About 100 folks saw it before I removed it, though.

Instead, I offer this awesome Garage419 video which has some fun track footage, great graphics explaining the PDK, and some talk about direct fuel injection, along with a really funny bit at the end, which if you watch, will give some insight into why I pulled my video:

Now I understand what you meant about lawyers. I only watched the video the first time and saw the Porsche High Performance Driving School video. I did not think it was incriminating. You were obviously filming them and they could have stopped you. The music covered anything that may have been sensitive.

Was ist verboten? They were demonstrating the cars to show off the technology. Then the magazines write about it. Good publicity. Why is it "hush-hush"?

Oh it's not like that at all. My friends knew I was making a video, no secret there. But as I said, after the fact pucker-factor set in - on MY part. It was all very impulsive and in-the-moment and I worried about putting my friends in an awkward position relative to any potential "corporate" issues. I don't always subscribe to this for general operating purposes, but sometimes "better safe than sorry" rules the day. I am the only lawyer in this mix, perhaps THAT is the problem

The Garage419 video is much better than mine was, enjoy!
