72T 911 point gap?

O.K. another question, what should be the point gap on a 72 T 2.4 (euro) with Zenith Carbs? My drivers manual says 0.16 or (0.4 mm). Anyone have another measurement? I have rebuilt the carbs and just going through the reasons why I can't get rid of the popping through the carbs.
Thanks!

.35mm or better yeat use a dwell meter, 38*+/-3* for a Bosche dist, 1* less for a Marelli

I always set it wide gap(which is low dwell)

Bill is right, I set my with a dwell meter at 35 and re-adjust as it approaches 41. Very quick and simple to check this way.

I set mine at .014 and then check with a dwell meter.
