Mad about steering problems

So long story short, about 4-5 weeks ago I bought the turbo tie rod kit from our hosts and put it on.
I have been doing some other jobs on the car in the last couple of days and I just checked my steering with the wife, with the car sat stationary with my wife moving the steering back and forth about 15-20 degrees there is a clear knocking/clunking, I felt down to the steering components and it feels like the inner tie rod ball joints are worn already!
When I first did the car with the new kit I tried the same thing and no clunking etc.
I've only done about 600 miles since doing the kit and I pretty bummed its worn already, I have completely stock suspension etc and wheels, my car is completely stock, an 88.
What should I do? does anyone else have this problem? Should I write to pelican and ask for new parts?

you might be able to eyeball or feel the play, or just confirm it by hand wobbling the tires.

if you confirm any play in a ball joint or tie rod I'd change all 4.

When I put my kit on I noticed that the boots would fold in on themselves and make a distinct sound. However, this was only noticeable at the extremes of the steering range.

And you are sure this is the kit from Pelican not a ebay one? There are two different manufactures out there; one has a good rep and the other one...well..not so much.

Every last nut and thread was torque correctly?

I'll check again tomorrow and be more careful to pin point exactly where its coming from, it did seem to be the inner joint, but I'll check everything it tight.
