oil return tubes? nah, oil return HOSE failed!

Hey all.... have you ever seen this? It appears that my oil return hose has a leak, pretty substantial at that! Buncha german crap - it only lasted 42 years. There is oil running down the hose from a point that cannot be determined....and, Naturally, it is appeaers virtually inaccessible unless the engine comes out... I was hoping that I 'only' needed to remove the heat exchangers to access the oil return tubes....but they look clean and when I fired her up and got underneath, the oil is oozing out of the oil return hose. any ideas? 1967 SWB 911 normale thanks! happy new year! td | ||

Sounds like you are describing the scavenge line from the crankcase to the oil tank/t-stat. You can buy new from Pelican or take yours to a place that can fix hydraulic lines and they can replace the flexable part. Some have said that a tractor repair facility can do this kind of work. -Andy
