oil return tubes? nah, oil return HOSE failed!

Hey all....

have you ever seen this? It appears that my oil return hose has a leak, pretty substantial at that! Buncha german crap - it only lasted 42 years. There is oil running down the hose from a point that cannot be determined....and, Naturally, it is appeaers virtually inaccessible unless the engine comes out...

I was hoping that I 'only' needed to remove the heat exchangers to access the oil return tubes....but they look clean and when I fired her up and got underneath, the oil is oozing out of the oil return hose.

any ideas?

Sounds like you are describing the scavenge line from the crankcase to the oil tank/t-stat. You can buy new from Pelican or take yours to a place that can fix hydraulic lines and they can replace the flexable part. Some have said that a tractor repair facility can do this kind of work.
