Speed sensor damage?

Should this speed sensor be replaced? It still works.... I noticed it has a slight groove worn in it when I was replacing the leaking rear seal mentioned in this thread.

If you have easy access to them already, I would definitely replace. Are those metal shavings? Wonder how that happened? Was the bracket loose?

I think it happened because I obviously didn't set the clearance correctly. Since I had the engine out, I reset the clearance at .008 mm. Even though I used BMW E30 sensors, they're still pretty freakin' expensive. (What isn't on a 911?)

Get some fresh parts and "put it to bed". She wants you to do this...(?) She "needs" you to do this....this time with absolute perfect spec clearance.

Best,

Doyle

I put a slight dent in mine when I mounted up my 915 trans to the studs on my new 3.2
engine. Put the engine back in and got know fire. Meter her out, it should be around 950-
1020 ohms. Mine read open. Now I have to drop the engine. Replace her if you can easily
otherwise I'd run her.

Are you saying you think the damage happened b/c you set the spacing .008mm vs. .8 mm?
