Speed sensor damage?
Should this speed sensor be replaced? It still works.... I noticed it has a slight groove worn in it when I was replacing the leaking rear seal mentioned in this thread.

i wouldnt worry about it, it looks very slight and not through the outer shell or cap.
just my thoughts thanks ed |
If you have easy access to them already, I would definitely replace. Are those metal shavings? Wonder how that happened? Was the bracket loose?

Get some fresh parts and "put it to bed". She wants you to do this...(?) She "needs" you to do this....this time with absolute perfect spec clearance.

I put a slight dent in mine when I mounted up my 915 trans to the studs on my new 3.2
engine. Put the engine back in and got know fire. Meter her out, it should be around 950- 1020 ohms. Mine read open. Now I have to drop the engine. Replace her if you can easily otherwise I'd run her. |
Are you saying you think the damage happened b/c you set the spacing .008mm vs. .8 mm?
