I have the factory dimensions from the 1973 Carrera RS if anyone is interested. At least you will know how they were installed originally.

The top of the solid block portion of the sticker, should line up with the gap between the rear bumper and the rear quarter panel.

This is not a exact measurement, but something that I noticed looking at low mile original paint cars online, and seeing a few in person as well.

If it were me, I'd look around for a original paint car for sale and email asking for a favor.

Heat the lettering with air heaters, infra-red lamps etc. to the opint where it can be peeled off without pulling the paint off in the process. Wash remaints (sic) of adhesive off the paint surface with a cleaning solvent. [ have used naptha]
