Post A 3.2 bares all.

Since I'm new to this board and to Porsches, I decided to "bare my soul" by posting a picture of my C2 Turbo bodied 3.2 Carrera when I stripped off the paint. (That's me by the 911, of course.) It was painted 3 times by the previous 3 owners! In various colors and with dubious quality paints.

It's being painted at the moment but this time with Glasurit and I'll post more pictures at various stages. Hope this works.

And hello to everyone! Jack, what an awesome car!

You're doing everything right, except the name of the image can't have a space in it. I'd add a reply to this after you rename, and upload again, the image. Your UBB code is right on, though. The thing that's getting you is the space in the image's file name.

Thumbs up

Scarface,

That's a sweet looking ride! Can't wait to see how it looks when it's all done.

Love those RUF Wheels. (They are RUF wheels aren't they?) What size are they?

What colour is the new paint?

Is the rear spoiler the Carrera 3.2 type? It looks like it. It's the first time I've seen a Turbo look car with that spoiler. Looks quite good I think.

Firstly, Jack you are a God. Thanks for all the help. A little history of the car. It's a 87 3.2 with a G50. It had 3 owners before me and had a C2 Turbo body upgrade done by one of them. Yes those are 17' Ruf rims. Apart from that the car was generally stock. I commited all the mistakes one would make when buying a 911.
It's my first Porsche and I believe I was in a trance when I signed the papers. Later, I discovered the layers of paint, shoddy repair work on various bits but was relieved that the car was generally in good shape. One small rust spot behind the front left rocker. Nothing a little time couldn't fix. Yes, that's the stock 3.2 spoiler. I'm thinking of going to a 964 electric spoiler though. I think it cleans up the lines of the car a lot.
Lastly, that's not a siberian husky...it's me. Thanks for the welcome guys!

Mikkel, since it has an updated body, I kinda figured Artic silver would be nice. It was Guards Red which I'm not too hot on.

Welcome Scarface (or is that woof?) Jack abilities are well known here, he's helped me out quite a few times. But a God!!??

Just 'cause he's young, good looking, got a great looking missus, drives a hot black heavily modified 911, writes better than most of us can talk, hangs out with swanky "Hollywood type people", obviously earns more than me, and seems to be the resident computer guru.... I don't think we need to blow any more smoke up his arse!

I'm going out now to crawl under a rock!

Did one of you mere mortals mention me?

Seriously, though, for all the good things that have come my way, I still can't get my engine temperatures down where I want them on the track, and I still have the American-style headlight rings. As I see it, I've got a long, long way to go.

Roy, nice ride. There's nothing wrong with Guards Red. Just a personal preference thats all. What year is your 911? What have you done so far?

Check out the glow on Jack..see I knew he was a God...or Godess.

Car is an 88 and I haven't changed it from stock. Had a minor problem with the alternator in my first year and have a small problem with passenger defrost now which I will trace as soon as I can get to it, otherwise all I've done is clean it, recon the leather etc.

Great car which goes as well as shows - definitely the best thing I've ever bought (I did buy the number plate last year though and am not sure whether it's over the top or not !!)

Cheers

Roy

Hello

Is JO evil ? Driving a black Porsche faster then the speed of light. This is the reason why his engine temperatures are to high. Ever heard the hell has some shade or cold spots ? DOT lights are Vampire friendly lights.

But maybe it is like when Dante entered the heel.

Abouve the door stands: "let all your hopes go"

JO hopes to go faster ?

Grüsse

Did you made the "Cibachrome" effect on the computer ?

Red face

I'd be willing to renounce my evil ways if it would get me 20-degrees-cooler track temps.

The picture was run though the 'solarize' filter in Photoshop.

Scarface,
I can strongly recommend Arctic Silver. I had my once white 911 repainted in Arctic Silver and love the result. Beautiful looks, modern and classic at the same time. Also it's a practical colour because you don't see the dirt as much as on darker colours. If you haven't already been to www.cheaterswayside.com/911 you should go there. Most of us have our cars shown there along with a description. Mine is there too in case you'd like to see an old 1984 in modern Arctic Silver.

Roy M,
Great looking car.

JackOlsen,
If you're a Porsche god can you please "alakazam" my 911 into a 993 BiTurbo? With danish license plates please, so I don't have to pay the 180% registration tax.
