need recommendation

I am purchasing a 930 in Texas and am having it shipped back to me here in Colorado.

Any suggestions of who to use for a transport/mover? Have gotten a few quotes from sites online, but no one will send me any references or anything like that...just don't want the car damamged or held hostage for more money....

Any help would be great! Thanks.

Intercity. They've shipped my car cross-country, before.

+1 on Intercity. Shipped my car from TN to CA without issue. The home office is professional and the driver on my run was a great guy.

DeMoise, Used them to bring my 911 across country, Great company and communication . A hair cheaper than intercity with the same or better service and I've used both..........http://www.transportreviews.com/company/demoise-trk-ing.asp

Thanks, this is awesome. I checked out FedEx already and they were rather expensive....of course I checked out the covered trailers. Maybe they are cheaper with open ones.

Fly there and make a road trip back home. A great way to get introduced to your "new" 911. Good luck!! Tony.

Thomas Sunday used to have a driver who lived in the Denver area. I used them a couple of times about six years ago with excellent results and prompt delivery. Have also used Intercity and Passport (now FedEx) with similarly good results.

But why not drive it?!

I agree with the Intercity recommendations. I've had two cars delivered by them. Very professional and timely. Not the cheapest but I felt the service justified the price. For me open transport seemed like a risk I wasn't willing to take. Tell us more about your new 930!

John

I would love to road trip it back, but driving into Colorado this time of year can be tough. Snow is something that I would hate to drive through in the car...

The car itself is a 1983 930, Black on Black. Bone stock except for a top end that was done about 5 years ago. At that time they did the typical top end, but also re-rnged the pistons. Also replaced head studs, new clutch, and rebuilt the turbo as the seals were bad.

Car has a little over 50K miles on it. The PPI came back very clean in my eyes, and the few items that were show stoppers to me, have been fixed at Jones Autowerks in San Antonio. So should be able to get the car here before end of month.......
