Copy of an owners handbook

Does anyone know of a pdf file of the owners handbook for a late G50 3.2 in English or something similar available out there ? People advise ebay but I am yet to see one.

Yes, I actually do. I scanned my manual - I got ambitious one day - so I produced a 27 MB pdf of the 1987 owner's manual. It shrunk to 23 MB when I zipped it but it is still pretty big to email.

I can try if you PM me your email address.

I'm afraid you probably won't be able to e-mail a 20+ MB file. Most services cut it off below 10MB. You could probably use Rapidshare or a similar free file share service. I'd also be interested in getting a copy of this although my car is moving so far away from stock I'm not sure how much good it will do me.

Good suggestion. I just put it up on RapidShare.

Since I don't have an account, it can only be downloaded 10 times . . . edit: It expired. Now an ex-link.

Ian, I've downloaded a copy. Good scan quality and great info as the manual is NLA.
Thanks a lot!

vreference & saintz

I just uploaded it to RS again. Check your PMs for the link.

I will go public again when you both confirm that you got it.

"Most services cut it off below 10MB." ? In many cases, if one has high-speed internet, the e-mail accounts don't have a restriction that low. I have regularly sent & received 10MB - 20MB e-mail attachments. Check with your specific ISP, as many have upgraded their e-mail system capabilities recently.

That being said, FTP is definitely the way to go for larger files.

If that isn't possible, the WinZip utility has the option of breaking up large files to multiple files, which can be e-mailed individually. Of course, one needs all of the zipped file "pieces" to recreate the compressed file.

Please note that this is copyrighted material, and thus falls under the restrictions established for this BBS.

However, if you want a reproduction print copy, "Genuine Porsche" produces reproductions. I understand that a non-Pelican source has them available (sorry, Pelican - sometimes we have to go elsewhere for things you don't carry, as much as we don't want to). But they are the US version, and there may be some differences between this and english-language RoW manual.

Thanks for posting this link guys! I recently picked up one on E-Bay. It was an original one with the warranty service book and document holder. It is in terrific condition but it was pricey. They are out there though

There's this one on eBay, which would be correct for your car, saintz;

Porsche 911 930 (1989) turbo Owners Manual hand book

Not cheap, though...

As Mike Myers would say " Whoaaaaaa"

that is a pretty hefty price but worth it if you need it that much I guess.

I'll make do with Ian's generous copy till I am lucky enough to get my hands on one. The one that came with my car is pristine but printed in German (my car is a German delivery ROW) with Japanese notations penciled in here and there, as the car was privately imported to Japan at some stage.

That's cool, that car has been on way more continents than I have.

ポルシェ 911 カレラ 3.2L
Porushe 911 Karera 3.2L

I asked an exchange student in my class and he said they call them Porushe Ninety One. I asked if he knew why they only say 91 (Rather than Nine Eleven or Ninehundred Eleven or some variation) but my japanese doesn't go beyond shopping and his english wasn't really up to the task either. He didn't strike me as a car guy so he may have been wrong too =)

Interesting price. A 100% accurate reproduction (same page weight, colors, binding, etc.) is published by "Genuine Porsche" and is available for a lower price than that eBay post from a Pelican competitor.

BTW, for '87 & '88, I think the cover color was blue.

Thought I'd add this here for anyone else in need of a manual.

I just received my manual NEW FROM PORSCHE for $50!!

Ordered it from a local P-car dealer after seeing it listed on the Classics section here:

http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/classic/literature/technicalliterature/

It took 6 months but NEW from Porsche!! woohoo! I'd post a pic but you all know what they look like. I should have ordered 10 and sold them for $150 on ebay!!
