Automatic clutch for 930 1989

I've just noticed that the clutch pedal of my 930 is much lower than the brake pedal and when I push on it, there is of course not much left (may 8 cm). I can change the gears but I really have to do it slowly as I suppose the clutch doesn't disengage completely.

I hadn't noticed this before but it is like this since I bought the car, it just didn't bother me but now I wonder if it's normal.
Shouldn't the brake and the clutch pedals be on the same level?

What is the reason for this? Is there some air in the hydraulic clutch? I don't think that the clutch itself is too used as there should be an automatic compensation.
Any suggestions?

The 930 clutch adjustment is very similar to the adjustment for the later 915s with the over-center ‘Omega’ spring.

Do a Pelican search. I suspect the 930 adjustment procedure is posted. If not, the 915 is sufficiently similar to get you set correctly.

Of course there are possibilities other than adjustment for your low pedal.. Some include the cable braking, the clutch pedal failing at the attachment to the cross shaft or even an issue with the clutch release bearing at the pressure plate.

Best,
Grady

The 89 930 is the only year of the 930 with the G50 gearbox and its hydraulic clutch mechanism. Sounds like it's probably a hydraulic issue (need to bleed fluid, or change master or slave cylinder). Of course it could be in need of new clutch parts too...

Is there a repair kit for the master and slave cylinders?
