Factory Tools

My SC never came with the factory tool set. All the ones I could find (mostly on Ebay) went for about $ 300 - $ 400. I could never justify spending that kind of money on a set of used tools that were not really great quality.

So my solution was to create my own based on the factory tool kit.

Total cost?

Case - new from supplier on ebay who makes these things - $ 39.00
Gorilla lug wrench w/ socket - $ 20 @ Summit
Extra 24mm socket so lug wrench can double as fan wrench - $ 8 @ Northern Tool
Fan Pulley Wrench - $ 34 @ Pelican
2-in-1 Screwdriver - $ 10 @ Ebay
Channel Lock pliers - $ 10 @ Ebay
Craftsman Double End Wrenches (in factory kit sizes) - $ 11 used on Ebay
Total Cost - $ 132

And I have better tools.

I still need to add some things to this kit...fuses, extra fan belt, the wheel lock nut key.

Won't win and concours competitions, but just an idea for those of you who don't want to buy the factory tool kit.

MAN! That pouch looks great. They did a nice job.

Looks like mine minus the rust stains.

What did you use for a plug wrench? Is that it next to the green handle in the first pic?

No. That's just the 24mm socket slipped over the screwdriver shaft for storage in the bag.

I didn't really think I'd be changing spark plugs on the road, so I didn't bother putting one in there.

I'd like to get the factory Hazet tool though...I hear they make changing spark plugs very easy.

Can you post or PM the name of the "the supplier on eBay who makes such things", as I have an original tool kit, but the pouch itself is not in great shape.

Thanks
