is there a website to decode my VIN?

is there a website where I can decode my VIN number?

I would like to know its original color? both inside and out?

It looks like its an ROW just want to find out for which market it was made?

it also has no SUNROOF, I want to make sure it was like that from the factory and if so, how many were made that year with that spec?

I would like to know if it came with no A/C from the factory...stuff like that...

can anyone of you expert Guru's help?

my VIN number is 91A0134256

Thanks alot!

A nice little reference is a book called the Porsche 911 Red Book by Patrick C. Paternie. According to the Red Book, yours is number 4,256 out of 4,831 rest of world cars built between 08/1979 and 07/1980.

You can't tell all the stuff you wanted to know by the VIN. A certificate of authenticity from PCNA may give you a pretty good clue how your car was equipped originally. COAs can be very accurate or have some mistakes so don't take it as gospel.

I believe PCA also publishes a similar book to the Red Book for about $7 shipped if you're a member.

Does PCNA or PAG give the engine's output numbers if requested?

If you mean the HP/torque etc. I doubt it. Depending on the year and model, in addition to the Red Book already mentioned, there are quite a few references by Bruce Anderson, Peter Zimmerman, Randy Leffingwell, Karl Ludvigsen, Paul Frere (and the list goes on) that cover 911s. Most give the basics and some give you the obscure inside skinny on the cars.

The factory spec booklets contain an engine type decoder for the motor serial # and the published power outputs for that motor type.

No sunroof is good...you just gained over an inch of headroom, and saved 40-50 pounds of weight...weight up high, where you need it the least.

Try this:
http://www.0-100.it/porsche/chassis/chassis_ital.html

It's in Italian, but it's kind of possible to get the meaning anyway.

No sunroof is definitely good, if I could go back in time, I would've made it option delete.

You've got a ROW engine, and its number 4256 of 4831 A program 1980's built.
