1998 993 C2S - Good/ Bad?

Hey Folks:

I'm looking at a low mileage 98 C2S. Pros? Cons? Fair market price? Thoughts are much appreciated.

Not a lot of cons to that!

Fair market price, that's a tough one, prices have been falling dramatically. There was a really nice one that went quick (to a reseller) on eBay for $35K, low miles, original paint, etc. etc. (might have been a '97).

how much are they asking, what color, what wheels and tires....options? i personally would love to have the later 993 and will probably get one myself someday in the far future.

Approx $35 - $45K depending on condition.
For me, the "S" widebody is more desireable than a C2 from 95-97, and may demand more $$$.
If I am not mistaken, all 98's have the widebody option.

Guy here in Omaha's got a silver 98 C2S for sale - less than 15K miles, showroom condition.

If you're interested, I can get you his contact info.

I think the C2S widebody is one great looking car! One would think that they would hold their value fairly well too.

all Pros...no Cons

The 993 board is pretty active over on Rennlist. Post pics!

JMO but the turbo and S bodies look like a caricature.

The 2S has no suspension/engine/brake advantage over a n/b. It is heavier and has worse aero.

If you like the exagerated hips, go for it.

Pros: like the shape, truly last of the air cooled variety and last MY for 993 so colllector car status is historically worth more than any other 993's.

Con: it's value will be determined by its originality and mileage and condition so the owners will be afraid to drive them for fear of dents and other minor annoyances of owning a garage queen. But to truly use one is to enjoy and get the benefits of other's depreciation at this time.
