Ignition Problem ?

Ignition Problem?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 1984 Porsche 911 that has a problem with the ignition circuit. When you turn the key to the off position it does not shut off immediately. Is there a capacitor in the circuit and where is it. I can find it on the schematics but not in the car. Can somebody give me an answer on this? Thanks

Not a lot of info here, but if you wiggle the key in the off position, and the motor finally shuts off, the problem is in either the key mechanism or the electric module behind the key mechanism.

Usually it works the opposite, the car is reluctant to start.

To replace, look for some quality back time, upside-down, under the steering wheel.

There's a detailed article in the Tech Info Center on this site, parts available from our sponsor.
