There's 2 little nuts on the back of each knee pad. You need to fold yourself into a pretzel and get your head under the dash.

One of those tricky jobs where you will drop the nut and washer a few times on reinstallment.

Feel behind the knee pad area with your hand. You should easily find the two nuts...(10mm socket)

Hey Mike.

It is easier, although not necessary, to take one of the seats out and lay on your back on the floor to do the job.

Here is a picture of the knee pad removed with the bolts pointed out. Maybe that will at least give you a reference point to find them.

a ratcheting small 8mm box end wrench works good too.

up down up down, repeat 8,000 times per nut.

1/4in drive ratchet,6in extension,8mm socket
some of the nuts it is easier just to use a tool to crack them loose and then reach in with your fingers and undo. press on the kneepad where the stud is to take the pressure off the nut.
some nuts you need the extension and some you don't.
the screwdriver handle 1/4in drive is usefull for the one where the extension with ratchet is just a little to long and hits the underdash.
and if you know where they are you don't have to lay under the dash.

I used an 8mm nut-driver. The one near the center of the dash was easy (okay, I cheated - the radio is out).

The other was not so easy. Hard to get the angle right and it got rounded off a bit. Seat out would make it easier. Man, I hate working under the dashboard.

This is definitely one of those on your back jobs that is not fun. And I pity the fool who tries to take my knee pad out. One of the studs came "unglued" and spins when you try to loosen the nut...........
