Mod to pull/push warm air to windshield?

I've got an 82 SC with SSI's and a dead heater blower motor or wiring or both. I don't really need the motor for the cabin heat and planned to back date it at some point anyway.

I would like to get more warm air to the windshield in the winter especially in slow traffic and at a stop. On the freeway it's no problem. Is there a way to put some type of aftermarket fan in line with a manual switch to pull/push warm air to the windshield? Has anyone tried this?

I've got a few little projects in mind to make my car more of a year round DD and this is on the top of the list along with getting the rear defrost working again. It is Seattle after all :D
