Double sided tape too easy, needed more complicated solution!
a few weeks ago i posted item about attaching 2.7 emblem to engine vent and double sided tape seemed to be the answer, but this appeared way too easy and a 5 minute job. I wanted something more complicated that would take ages.
So i fabricated a small metal plate the length and width of the emblem with a small narrow raised ridge that would sit between the vents. The emblem is glued to the metal plate which results in having a larger surface area of the emblem actually in contact with the glue. The small ridge fits neatly between the vents and washer and nut holds every thing in place. oh well, i had fun doing it! oh, almost forgot - i did use some double sided tape between the back of the plate and the vent just in case, don't want to scratch the vents now! cheers shane ![]() ![]() ![]()

That is what I love about the people on this board. They never take the easy way out. Nice work!

The double sided tape alone method would only be for attaching the emblem to a aluminum grill with the factory mounting plate on the grill, to use this emblem on any other type of grill one would need to fabricate a mount, like you did. Good job!

yeah 3.2 one day maybe, my 2.7 is going fine so is the sporto, would rather keep it that way if I can. considering buying spare 2.7 and spare sporto, or 3.0/3.2 but then a new gear box too, food for thought.!
we don't have all that anti pollution stuff (and we have 11 blade fans) that seems to cause so many problems in the US with over heating. it's all good fun. cheers
