Wiring harness help! (Large images.)

My wiring harness (1984) in the front of the car was a rats nest. I'm in the process of rewiring, but I need some help identifying wires in the main, dme, and mystery harnesses. All of these wires either run through the tunnel or along the left side of the car (DME) to the front.

Here are some pics:

Main harness. I have identified about everything except these wires:
Black/Green (Brake light switch, turns into Black/Yellow.)
Red/Black (Tail light "9 wire" bundle.)
Black/Blue (Heater control.)
Black (Rear window defroster.)
White/Black (Rear window defroster.)
White/Green (Mystery wire? Maybe from the speedometer to the light switch.)
Brown/White (E-Brake.)
Blue (Plugs into gauge battery charge light.)
Brown/Black x 2 (Rear brake wear sensor.)
White/Red (Heater relay.)
Large Yellow (Alternator?)

DME Harness:
Large Red (DME Pos?)
Black and Black/Violet identified as Tach wires.
Yellow/Red (This may be the Yellow 50 to DME)
Green/Yellow (I think this was for the A/C)
Medium Black (At the top of the picture with the Green/Red) (15 to DMER 86?)
Large Black (Also at the top of the picture with the Green/Red) (15 to Coil?)
Green/Red (Does this just go to the fuel pump fuse?)
Also those two mystery white connectors to the right in the picture are confusing me. The first connector has been identified by gsmith660. It goes to the heater control unit. The second connector may go the cruise control.

Mystery harness #1. Identified as part of the cruise control:
Black
White/Green
Brown/White
White

Mystery harness #2. Identified as part of the cruise control:
Grey/Brown (Maybe the cruise control?)
Black
White
Brown

Random large green wire in black sleeve (maybe A/C related?):

+1 And take your time and identify for sure each wire and lable each as you do, I am not sure if this is the case with your car but in the older cars the altenator will not charge unless the blue wire is hooked up properly to the charge indicator light as far as the others trace them to their origin and hook them back up. Take a picture a little farther back to get an overall perspective I have a haynes manual if you get really stuck I will dig it out and see if I can help out. Just remember SCWDP will help out its 32c brothers when in need!

I spent 7 hours with the Haynes manual yesterday . I was just hoping that the last few would be recognized on here.

Splitting the loom all the way back is not ideal. I will keep at it.

Thanks .

Are the last few you talk about the ones you have in the pics above if so take some pics from farther away to give better perspetive and pick a time and I will dig out my haynes and see if I can help just remember I have a way earlier harness so there may be things I am not aware of in your harness but I will do my best.

Also you can trace wires back to fuses by using a multimeter. If you can get the fuse number it will be easier to figure out what it goes to.

1mm green might be headlight cleaner
green/brown shows at injectors is this in the trunk or engine comp.?
brown is almost always ground
again where are these wires black and white wires go to a multitude of things
brown/white wire shows to the DME relay
the molex connector I dont know the car well enough to say for sure

these are some ideas I got from glancing at the wiring diagram in the haynes manual.

I think that large Black/Green in the first picture is supposed to turn into a Black/Yellow and go to the brake light switch. If you look at H8 on the USA/Japan diagram you will see what I am talking about.

The Green/Yellow in the second picture I think goes to G32 (A/C). Then the Large Green in the last picture may be the wire to the right of it in G32 (also A/C).

One way to do this is to go through all the stuff on the car and see what is working and write down what isn't and that would narrow things down. What are the colors onthe ther 4 pin molex

The four pin molex is White/Green White/Black Black White. I am almost positive it is the connector in E66/67. It is supposed to go to the heating control unit.

Ok. The small white connector next to the molex is Brown Brown/Black. I think it has something to do with the brake wear sensor. All Brown/Blacks seem to be related to this.

(Edit: It actually appears to belong to the cruise control.)

My battery charge light might be Blue/Red (from the gauge) instead of Blue. I can't find Blue/Red anywhere in the diagrams.

(Edit: It exits Blue/Red from the anti-theft device, but enters Blue.)

Where is the belt contact for the clock relay? If it is in back then two of the wires belong to that. I am also positive that some of those wires are for the rear defroster.

(Edit: White/Black and Black from the first picture may belong to the rear window defroster from K64).
