Tire size & air pressures

I purchased Sumitomo HTR Z II from TireRack. Sizes are 255/40-17 rear & 225/45-17 front. OEM's for my car were 215/60-15 rear & 185/70-15 front. I was curious about what pressures to run so I called. The sales guy told me the tire pressures would be the same, 29lbs. for the front and 36 lbs. for the rears cold. I guess it's my ignorance but I never thought they'd be the same pressures. I know we have excellent tire/wheel guys here so could you guys confirm this for me.
Thanks in advance.

Wink

There are 2 things that have been etched in my mind regarding my carrera's tires: 29 and 36 mean smooth and right!

I would experiment a bit if I were you, You will find a sweet spot for your car and style.

Just as an anecdotal date point, I haven't found much difference in the tp needs between 16 and 17

Buck, just purchased the exact same tires, also from tire rack. Could not resist the price, anyway I am sticking with 29 lbs in the front and 36 lbs in the rear.
