Smile 911 SC battery weight savings!!!!

I have to share: I read on this site about the PC 680 by Odyssey....I put one in (same spot as orig. 42 lb battery), it starts right up..this thing is about 14 lbs and of course sits in front of the wheel (not placed in smug box)...so effectively it's a good 22 to 25 lbs weight savings over or in front of the wheel. Seems to be as important in savings as would a bumper upgrade (but it's even more savings). I have been reducing weight for a while now (bumperettes, interior sound padding, back seats, A/C delete, original carpeting, door panel upgrade, center console, and now battery). After all this (a few hundred pounds or more), the car handles better, brakes better, gets up faster and is just more fun to drive. The battery of course was the easiest step! I am in L.A. so don't have the extended no driving periods but i understand this unit can handle that too.....wanted to share.

I want to see your all chrome set up...I'm jealous...

Seriously, I have chrome door handles, Headlight rings, polished rims, silver hood badge, chrome vent windows and door trim, silver window seal trim, and chrome antennae and a chrome rear deck-lid grill (not installed yet), I just wanted to see a picture of someone else who liked the look as much as I do.

I am considering stripping the Targa bar, and adding chrome windshield wiper arms, backdateing the mirrors etc.

for SNbush67...I don't go as far as chrome on the grill, antenna or wiper blades but have thought about it...can i see pic of the antenna, grill and blades....my hesitation is straying too far from stock...i have the various stock door handle and window chrome, light rims and my Fuchs are full chrome with the porsche hood badge type painted centers...the hoop is actually painted car color...over all goes well with copper met. brown and tinted windows.
dave (i have to get a pic up of car and battery, actually not sure how to do that, never done before).

also SNBush67...the mirror backdate is something i really want to do...because the bumpers are stock and large (reduced sized bumperettes though)...the 74/75 chrome rectangular mirror i think will go well...just saving up to get the better quality left one (or original), i only have a left side mirror.

Porsche Crest

I don't have the grill mounted yet, but I got it out for the picture, I also don't have the chrome wiper arms or silver Targa bar.

My favorite is the "operable vent windows" they bring in a lot of cool air.

I think tcar had a set for sale in the 911 classifieds for 55$. That is a steal.

The door handles and door trim pieces are chrome they just look black in the picture. I do have alu around the back, you should scoop up those windows from tcar. You shouldn't wait for a pic if its just paint that stuff will come off easy without damaging the chrome. Those windows are hard to find in any condition.
