Value of a stock 2.4S?
I have a stock 1972 911S 2.4ltr MFI engine that I have been using in a casual track car for many years. It seems a shame to use what has become so desirable an engine just for occasional track fun. A friend has been encouraging me to sell it and get a larger engine more suitable for track use.
My question relates to the value of my 2.4S engine? The engine is stock except for the oil bypass mod, upgraded oil pump and was rebuilt not many miles ago (rings, valve job w/new valves, bearings). It runs very well but has some typical oil leaks [a lot of which are from the car sitting for long periods. Obviously, they aren't significant or they wouldn't allow me past tech inspection. I have also been informed that my stock 915 will probably not be strong enough for the torque of a replacement engine. It is in excellent condition. The numbers on the bottom are so scraped up that I cannot guarantee that it is the "correct" and matching transaxle. However, it came with the engine and seems well matched to it. I would offer this with the engine at a suitable price. Thanks for any info on the value of my 2.4S, and the transaxle too? |
