Custom brake adaptor blocks and hats
Does anyone know where I can get some custom brake adaptor blocks? I have all the specs needed? Would also like a set of hats made for front Wilwood rotors (8X7")

This is what i did:
![]() ![]() the calipers are wilwood 4 piston superlites and the rotors are wilwood 12.19 x 1.25 hd. the caliper adapter brackets i had made with e-machineshop out of stainless steel. they cost about $300 for 2 complete sets. i got the hardware from mcmaster carr. the rotor hats i got with a cheap ebay brake kit, i only ended up using the hats which are 5mm thick powdercoated aluminum. they could be easily made at e-machineshop.com also. let me know if your interested in the extra set of the caliper brackets. VCI is also a good source for the individual parts if you want to use porsche calipers.

That looks nice, thanks. Can you fit those under 15s?
I really don't see a problem with my fronts. From all the specs I've been reading from the Wilwood catalog I should be able to use the SL6 with a 11.75 X 1.25 rotor and still be able to use my 15s (radius is 6.77). I could use the 12.19, but I think it's cutting it close with a radius of 6.94. The only issue I see is getting hats with a 10mm offset. I'm worried about the back, I'd like to put 4 piston caliper in the back but nobody makes anything that fitt's the 3" mounting holes. I was thinking if I can get custom adaptors, I can use Wilwood radial mounting calipers which mount at 5.98. I also thought of taking the rear control arms and having the mounting holes filled then redrilled at 3.5".

the 12.19 rotors won't clear 15" wheels, maybe 16s . i like the idea of using the 11.75 rotor - very common and cheap. hrpworld.com advertises custom rotor hats, i think they are in the $300ea range, not sure however. i like your idea of welding the caliper flange and re-drilling. i might try that for my swb 911r project.

Yeah, plus the smaller rotors are thicker so less chance of warping.
I can't believe how expensive these things are. They're only a piece of metal, nothing very fancey about them.

I never knew about emachineshop. I've been playing around with the CADD software all week and came up with designs for new rotor hats, rear brake adapters and an adapter for the master cylinder so I can have duals just like FabCar does. I've noticed it's a lot cheaper if you buy more than one. For the rotors it's cost me $250 for 2. Adapters $200 for 2 MC adapter $251 for 2. All made out of T6 aluminum. They even give you suggestions on how to make parts cheaper. I feel like a kid in a candy store. I even skipped lunch on Friday just so I can get some sketches done.
