Mine all have names that relate to their past lives. My first 911, a 1969 T Targa, I always referred to as "Der Buist" - Buist is the last name of the great gentleman who put me in the way of a REAL sports car for the first time, back in about 1984 or so. A $7000 deal I have never regretted.
My 1970 S Coupe is called Keller after the great German-Russian mechanic who did most of the mechanical restoration - the engine in particular. Toli Keller also built the 2.4 that is now in Der Buist, and rebuilt the 915 tranny in Weber
My 1973 T Targa-3.2 Carrera powered, is known as Weber, as a memorial to my lifetime best friend, the former owner, Ken Weber. Ken was a victim of Leukemia and left us 11 years back at the tender age of 48. His spirit lives on & rides with me in the Targa whenever we get out to play. This would even include a few weekends back when I put him backwards into the trees along the roadside here. Ken would have said, 'If you don't have a small crash now & then, you are not using the car properly.' I agree completely...

At long last I purchased my first Porsche a few years ago, a blue '86 coupe.

Naturally, my daughters immediately emasculated the car by naming it Sally Carrera. If you've seen "Cars' then you'll know.

Last summer I purchased a guards red 944 turbo for track use, so naturally its now Lightning McQueen and sports number 95.

When I first got the SC the original paint had so many swirls in it I said it looked like someone washed it using a Brillo Pad. Brillo kind of stuck. Even after KevinP73 painted it a couple of years ago, most people still refer to it as Brillo. I call it the blue car

It usually photographed pretty well, so I don't have any good pictures of what it really looked like before it was painted. Here's one after being painted:

My wife has named mine "Penny." As in a pretty penny... Deep down, she loves the car too.

Mister P.

This is because my first car was a 1991 MR2 Turbo, named "Mister Two" . . .

Bought the A6/4.2 Audi, named him "Mister A".

Mister P stuck nicely.

The 911 is called "the red car" and we call the Cayman "the new one" Not too imaginative huh?
