"The track car" ( 944 )
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1237225789.jpg "The rusty one" ( 77 911 future ice racer ) "Oneday" ( 72 lexan\fiberglass no engine future race car ) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1237225837.jpg "TheProject" ( 84 930 3 years into it still not on the road ) |
my car has lived her life as a whore...hence the un-original name "Roxanne". I'm trying to gussie her up and I have no idea how many men have had their hands on her! There is an ex-wife joke in there somewhere, but I'll save that for a more appropriate thread ;)

How about things we name "porsche" ? my dogs name was porsche =)
|
I swear to you all, the other day I had come up with a good one, but after a few Corona, I have forgotten...... :(
|
White Lightning... started off as White Lion as a joke (picture an 80's hair band). Just couldn't think of a serious name for a white Targa. I think it was my sister-in-law who first suggested White Lightning and it just stuck. Although, I have a hard time taking myself seriously when I say it!

My wife calls mine the Rust Rocket. No matter what I do to it, I have this feeling the name is going to stick.
|
My wife and kids call it "the Porsche."
I call it "the little green car." |

Cars nickname is usually "Poor-sha" or "finicky German tin" |
"skippy" is the current name. when i bought it was so low it skipped off anything in the road
after adding a skid sign under the gas tank and raising it to a whopping 3" of ground clearence it is a much better ride. PO names "Millie" "Foxy Brown" |
Sold cars
Guards Red 79 930 - Miss Kitty as in Gunsmoke cause I love redheads. I also had a Hello Kitty sticker on the rear window to mess with people. Black 85 RoW Cab - Tina as in Tina Turner because I used to abuse her. Area Red 99 Carrera - No name Current cars Grand Prix 86 911 turbo - Hikari (means lightning in Japanese, also a name of the Shinkansen aka bullet train) also called that because she puts on a light show by shooting flames! Grand Prix 91 964 turbo - No name Pongee beige metalllic 80 911sc Weissach - No name |
Barney - Cool early 70's color Auburgine (other suggestions were Dino and Grape Ape, but Barney is the one that stuck thanks to my buddies in Orlando)

"Der mutt. " '82 911SC coupe converted to a cabriolet with '95 993 front end, rear flares and tail by Einmalig (by previous owner). '78-'80 930 hot rodded engine added by me and my better half (she who keeps the checkbook). This car is actually a tribute to the '993 cabriolet turbo that was never officially sold. Rumor has it that only 13-14 were ever made and given directly to friends of the factory.

From certain angles, when looking @ the car when I first got her, the front end made me think of a duck bill. Thus the name "Ducky":p. To be PC, I can't share how I determined the gender;)

The younger of my two daughters started calling it "the little black car"
She said because when she said "Porsche", it just sounded like one was trying to show off, or trying to put on airs. So now it's that "little black car" in the garage. Said with amusement and/or bemusement by my daughters, but with a (jealous?) snarl from my wife. |
We're a pair.
|
my 3yr old calls it "The Race Car" or "Poorsha" (but you have to say it really fast). I think the wife just calls it "The Porsche" and I just call it "Fat Boy". Other than the exhaust being replaced with a dynomax and removal of the rear seats and stereo, it's still a pretty fat little bastard. My dream/goal (don't tell the wife) is to eventually get another widebody, strip it out and call it "Low Fat" or "Skinny"
