hi, my 87 911 ,3.2 carrera oil return tubes leak. has anyone experience replacing?
most important question is how to deal with heat exchanger/ exhaust on driver's side?
a porsche mechanic told me it can be done with a special tool without removing exhaust.
has anyone accomplished this...how?
thnx

Serious? Holy Crap! I think this is the first time this ever happened...

Oh wait, do a search, I think it happened to to somebody else one time. I think they ended up parting out their car...

Seriously, this is common and there are several documented fixes on ths BBs.

I found this problem on my car tonight, and I'm a little worried! Can anyone let me know whether I can still safely drive with this rear sway bar bracket broken?

Just as an alternative solution the PO of my car had replaced the Sway-bar with a Weltmiester 22mm bar. This is mounted with bolt on bushings. I had to replace these once and found old mustang bushings fit.

The pic appears to show it's just the bolted on brackets falling off, not clear what happened.

Unless that other bracket's about to fail as well, do check, a sedate drive to the shop shouldn't be a problem.

It looks like the bracket has sheared and will mean that the other bracket is taking all of the load, which is then very likely to do the same. It’s safe to drive to your repairer, but that would be all I’d recommend

Ian, once the bracket comes loose on one side, the sway bar flops around and there is little or no force on the other side.

Your handling will be different. I would avoid Laguna Seca or Auto-Xing until it is fixed.
